A Look At Hotels For Those With Disabilities

Monday, February 28th, 2011

One of the great things about modern society is that being disabled is no longer as restrictive as it used to be. There is no reason why you can’t go on holiday and enjoy yourself just like everyone else can, but of course there are various restrictions still especially with regards to where you want to go. Hotels serving disabled travelers are no longer hard to find.

In many countries, it is the law for every hotel to have basic disabled facilities including a room which is disabled friendly. Therefore, in these countries these are certainly not difficult to find. Of course there are plenty of places in the world which do not have facilities for disabled travel, but these are getting fewer and fewer all the time.

These days, there are many countries in the world which have strict legal requirements for hotels to offer various basic disabled facilities. Popular resorts and very popular tourist destinations around the world typically all have disabled facilities now. You don’t really even need to look for disabled hotels specifically, and all you need to do is make sure that they have the facilities required.

In order to book your holiday and be comfortable that you have done the right thing, you need to be absolutely sure that all the facilities that you need are going to be there. In many countries, hotels are legally required to have a room which is friendly for disabled people. This will typically be on the ground floor and have a bathroom specifically designed for the disabled.

However, in a more popular and heavily tourist and places, hotels often have rooms which are specifically designed to be able to accommodate those who are disabled. They have disabled bathrooms, are located on the ground floor and have all the other facilities that you will need is a disabled person.

Use the Internet to find the best deals on hotels and to make sure that you are getting facilities that you want and need. Often the major booking sites (such as Orbitz, Hotels.com or Travelocity) use standardized icons which are easy to follow and tell you with just a few minor pictures what sort of facilities the hotel has.

One of the most effective ways to book your accommodation is by using the Internet. This will help you hunt down the best deal, the best hotel and all the best things for you to do when you go on holiday. Just look out for the wheelchair icon and you will see that their support disabled persons. You will also be able to find out what sort of disabled facilities they have, since they are typically listed and elaborated on on the booking websites.

Disneyland, Beaches And A Plethora Of California Vacation Rentals

Monday, February 28th, 2011

California is one of the major tourist hotspots in the United States. From the snowcapped peaks of the Sierra Nevada to the sun saturated beaches of the Pacific Coast, California is perhaps the most varied state in the union, with something to offer everyone. But one of California’s sights pulls in more guests than any other from around the country and around the world and that attraction is Disneyland.

Disneyland opened in Anaheim, California in 1956 as a small theme park with only 16 rides and a single hotel. Since that time, Disneyland has blossomed and continued to bring about visitors of all ages to sunny southern California. Nowadays, Disneyland contains Disney’s California Adventure, Downtown Disney, and a third hotel dubbed Disney’s Grand Californian.

There are some seasonal considerations while planning your visit to Southern California, and predominantly when it comes to Disneyland. Disney is least in demand in the winter months, and particularly in January and February. If you can make it to the park on a weekday during these months, you will in all probability not even have to remain in line. Unfortunately, these months also represent the raining season in California, which might cause trouble. Because there are fewer visitors, the park often uses this time to fix rides and to do essential preservation, so you could come across some rides are inaccessible.  In addition, the park is open for fewer hours for the duration of these months.

The busiest times are during school holiday seasons or three day weekends. Nearly all of the summer months, even with the possible heat, are the busiest period, with lengthy waits and an surplus of people. The park is open for extended hours, however, and there will likely be no repairs in development on any of the rides.

Anaheim, the homeland of Disneyland, is itself situated in a tourist destination, as it is part of the bigger Los Angeles metroplex. World class beaches, shopping, dining, and anything else you can imagine are a short drive. Anaheim has various California Disney Rentals to pick from.  You can either dwell inside the Disney park or outside the park.

Among the most popular tourist destinations close to Anaheim in the greater Los Angeles region are the beaches. There are more than a thousand miles of California beaches, and many of the most excellent and most easily reached are in the south. These beaches match the picture of the classic Hollywood film image of a California beach, with white sand and brilliant sun and gorgeous Los Angeles area vacation rentals.

Tourists in the area should certainly pay a visit to Malibu. This metropolis is an hour away from Disneyland (without traffic) and maintains 27 miles of coast. The pristine Pacific beach is frequented by film stars and the Los Angeles elite, and the calm waters of Paradise Cove are perfect for families with young children.

Laguna Beach, roughly half an hour from Anaheim, is the home of 7 miles of coastline populated by the tan and toned characters you might imagine in this section of the world, strolling the sand and the palm-lined streets.

Disneyland in southern California is a splendid family retreat, as is Anaheim and it’s surrounding cities.  Warm weather and sunshine attract you to the beaches, the shopping and the dining draw you into the surrounding cities.  Southern California is truly a vacation filled with fun, family and frolic.

Monday, February 28th, 2011

Generally, when traveling with kids over the age of 10, your life starts to get a bit easier then it was when they were toddlers. However, on longer trips it can still get a bit frustrating. They are not as easily entertained with meaningless games and require a bit more substance in their vehicle activity fun. Below are 5 games that you can play with kids over the age of 10 in the car to get you to your destination with a little less headache.

1. Scavenger Hunt – On a long trip create a list of things that you might see on the road such as a flashing red light, barn, church, license plate with a “Q”, etc. It is really simple to come up with at least a hundred things to watch for. When someone spots something on the list their names goes next to that item on the list. Whoever has the most things found once you reach your destination, wins. Perhaps they don’t have to do the dishes for a night or they get to stay up a half hour later. Create a reward that will keep them eager to play.

2. License Plate Game – Create a list of every different state license plate that you see. Whoever spots the highest number of different license plates wins the game.

5. Single Sentence Story – One person begins the game by creating a first sentence in a story. Then next person adds a sentence, essentially adding onto the story. For example, many people want to visit the major oases of Egypt and a guided tour will often introduce the travelers to the impressive history of these areas, as well as allowing them to see some fascinating natural features too.

It is important to note that a luxury tour is going to be as comprehensive as possible.  Doing so will make the trip more fulfilling. Egyptologists are there to share their knowledge and guide you on the different attractions and key locations in the area.  There will also usually be gourmet meals, train and air transfers, and a host of other niceties included in a luxury trip.

When you consider the vast array of sites and attractions within Egypt it is actually quite reasonable and savvy to select a Egypt luxury tour service for your journey.
